Brettell Hone
Brettell Hone lives and works in South Africa. A child of the
Southern African region, he has never been far from the outdoors
and to the magical array of wildlife with which the
sub-continent is blessed. A law graduate of the University of
Zimbabwe, he worked as a Public Prosecutor and later as Company
Secretary to various mining companies in Southern Africa. One
of these was situated in a wild life sanctuary adjacent to the
Kruger National Park and it was here that his intimate
relationship with wildlife was enhanced through daily contact
with the animals and birds.
Ginger Nielson
Ginger Nielson
lives and works in Northern New England in the US. Her
favorite pastime for all her life has been drawing and
painting. As a child she spent long hours lost in picture
books. So, it shouldn't have been a surprise to her mother
or her piano teacher that all her music books were adorned
with tiny imaginary characters that all but obliterated the
notes. Realizing that her talents were in her hands but
more suited to holding a paint brush than laboring over
musical scales, she was allowed to pursue her own interests.
A graduate of Rutgers University she majored in Fine Art and
Education. Then as a teacher of young children she often
provided "Painting days" and happily joined right in with
her students. Later as a travel agent she was given the
opportunity to create window design, and in-house murals
along with her other duties. But wherever she was she
always needed to draw or paint....something, somewhere!
That is what she has done and is still doing as now as she
works full time at her "dream job" illustrating books for
children. Link to Ginger’s website:
